Ben brings three different, yet complimentary sets of skills to Futureview TV. He has experience as a web/graphic designer, woodworker, and musician. All three skill sets are constantly employed together to make a versatile whole. Ben came to computers, especially web design, as a means of advertising the musical instruments that he builds. His first site, Joella Basses, shows off his web development skills as well as his woodworking skills. Two other web sites are currently in the works and scheduled for launch in mid May 2006. As a woodworker, Ben got his start in high school with a need for two electric basses and cash for only one. As an apprentice for master luthier Ken Wittman, Ben learned the ins and outs of fine woodworking. His skills grew further with a two year post as project manager / restoration specialist for Wilson Restoration Company in Mason, MI. If you scroll down through the scrapbook on the Wilson Restoration site, you can see Ben installing angled oak paneling in a fashion similar to this Futureview TV project. Music is actually the driving force behind Ben's involvement in woodworking and computers. Everything revolves around the bass: electric, acoustic, or otherwise. Ben received an bachelors degree in music performance from the University of Southern California and a masters degree in music performance from Michigan State University. Some highlights from his performance career thus far include playing at Carnegie Hall and the Hollywood Bowl. While living in Los Angeles, he recorded for Bear McCreary, film composer for Battlestar Galactica and for Cher at Paramount Studios. He also performed for the premier of the HBO mini series "Band of Brothers". While living in Michigan, he played with the Grand Rapids Symphony. Currently residing in Boca Raton, FL, Ben is a section member of the Palm Beach Opera Orchestra and Miami City Ballet. He also substitutes with the Naples Philharmonic and the Jacksonville and Florida West Coast Symphonies.
